yo!

Welcome!

Here is the usual disclaimer for a universal cat;

"UNIVERSAL Catalytic Converter, Oval Body Type, One AIR Tube, No Oxygen Sensor Port, 2.50" Inlet, 3" Outlet, 14" Body, 18" Overall Length, May Require Cutting And/Or Welding. To comply with pollution laws, automakers have made many refinements to car engines and fuel systems.

Price: $89.17"

&

1987 - 1990

Notes: UNIVERSAL Catalytic Converter, Oval Body Type, One AIR Tube, No Oxygen Sensor Port, 2.50" Inlet, 3" Outlet, 14" Body, 18" Overall Length, May Require Cutting And/Or Welding

Engine: 5.0L, 8 Cylinder

Brand: Eastern

SKU: #70637

Price: 89.17

you can buy the O2 **** & air tube **** anywhere and have them and the cat welded it, adding to cost of course, but not as much $ as for a direct fit cat.

Welcome to the Zone > . I have a direct fit system on my truck and it works just fine. The cat was different then the original, Original was two seperate cats while the direct fit combined both functions into one cat like all modern ones do. They gave me an extension pipe for the air inject which took a little playing around with but once together everything was just fine. Some systems provide a high temp rubber hose for the extension.

Post some pictures of your truck.

Good luck,

:)>-

i agree with seabronc they are cake to install and work better than O.E. and they dont "require cutting or welding to install " when time is money and the direct fit is around 250 and is just that direct fit and your y pipe and every thin from manifold to muffler are new without playing erector set i call it a good idea by the way meisk just want to let you know that i think your home page is amoung the best resource sites out there just wish i could put the whole thing on a disk for the times i want to look something up and i am not at home

wtfdissux,

thanks man

My son just wrote a new proggie for the site; we're going to a new server, URL, host, etc. soon; the site wil be more relational database type than the current one.

And it can be ezier to copy with Hot Links in-place

You could copy the entire current site now by copying each section (EDIT, Select All, COPY) & then pasting them into an e mail to yourself;

the Links will work from your received copy.

on a side note i have seen headers that list both the 5.0 and 5.8 for the application firstly are they the same in that regard and if so would the same be for stock manifolds and if yes anyone know what the differences(size/length to cut and add)on the y pipe not crazy about the idea but may be cheaper than replacing my y pipe and manifold (broken stud and bad ****** = loud truck and bad running)

wtfdissux,

thanks man
