I own a 1971 ford bronco sport with a 351W, About six months ago I got the carbarator rebuild and now it wont stay running and my oil smells like gas what do I do to fix this problem.

Take it back to the re-builder..!

Sounds like he didn't get the float set correct & excess fuel is runn'n over into the intake & ultimately into the pan via the cylinders. :eek: /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

This would make it run terrible as well.

---OR--- The needle & seat may be stuck open due to some debris getting past a bad filter... & fuel is free to go where-ever it wants... :mad:

Gas in the oil can also come from a bad diaphram in the fuel pump. Mine put a gallon of gas in the oil before I discovered the problem durring an oil change. Take the fuel pump off and see if gas is leaking out on the side that mounts to the engine block. If it is, gas goes directly into the oil. A defective pump may also be why the engine won't stay running.
