I am not argueing against that, but let me leave this note.

The Civil War was not fought over slavery itself. It was an issue of State's Rights, which for the South was a way of life to have huge agricultural estate's. So having slaves was considered necessary for the South. Plus, all those horror stories about abuse, torture, and other bad things that were done to slaves were referring to maybe 5% of the total ***** population. Many slaves were treated nicely, and some were allowed in the master's house, and given a room, and food.

So, it's not hate. It's heritage. Rock on South!!!

It's your Bronco and you're the one who has to drive it...so if you're comfortable with it then go for it.

As for the Ford vs Dodge vs Chevy vs...whatever...lol...I've had bad luck with Ford, Dodge, & Chevy...so I'm not taking sides.

I was thinking, since I love the General Lee Charger on the Dukes of Hazzard, why not have a General Lee Bronco?

If he does this, then it will include all the details, the 01 and the Confederate flag will be up there....

Anybody think this is a good idea or not?

**********************************

Well, it's kinda funny... I had a charger back before The Dukes of Hazard came out... I loved that car... 440 Magnum with a super charger...

Can you say Wheelies, boys and girls...?

Anyway, about two years ago my Brother and I were discussing doing this very thing to my 86 Bronco XLT. I decided that the confederate flag should be painted across the hood instead of the roof. Kinda separating it from the idea of a copy cat thing... Also, since I did not want to redo the entire interior of the rig all over. I then considered a color different than the Pumkin Orange on the General Lee.

Both of these considerations are important to the theme of the car, especially if you ever decide to take the top off.

Now, considering how different this would look say in a Hot Rod Black, or maybe a Cobalt Blue on a Big Ol 4X4, sure it may look cool (to some), and while not completely copying the General Lee. Then again, like me if you would continue thinking now about how it's not an Original idea, maybe you'll come up with something, more personal, more you.

Oh one more thing, I also had the same Ford Torino as Starsky and Hutch. Mine was that Ford green, kind of a muted lime green, but with that same white Swoosh... Now I bought the car that way... The best $300.00 I ever spent on a car. Oh yeah, it made people look alright, but the look on their face. Well it makes people wonder if you ever have an original thought of your own...

With all the modern technology we have today in paints and unique colors and the ability of making a car appear to be 2 or even 3 different colors depending on the angle you look at it... I mean, I had a 1966 Mustang that had the original Poppy Red paint job. It could look Orange or Red, depending on shade, or sun or even distances.... that was 1966 Technology by Ford.

I'm sure if you think about it just a little longer, you'll come up with something...

We call that Southern Ingenuity...

Whatever you decide, Good Luck, send photos when finished...
