Hey all,

I just replaced my leaky 33 gal. gas tank with a replacement 33 gal. tank. The trouble is that the straps provided with the new tank are too short. I called the parts store and they assure me that the straps are correct. No way! 5" - 6" too short.

Could anyone guide me to a place where I can buy new straps for my 78 Bronco.

Thanks

Jamie

try LMCtruck, if the bolt idea doesnt work.
what about a length of thread-all and double nuts on either end?? maybe you didnt have a 33 gal. tank before...?maybe it was a 25 gal.? check out auto zones website. you will find the dimensions of both 25 and 33 gal. tanks. check with what you HAD in the truck to be sure you have the right equipment.

I replaced the straps on my 78 due to rust....I made my own using steel strapping and put pieces of used conveyor belt between the tank and straps....make your own any way you like!
