I am needing help figuring out what I have accidently cut so that I can get it fixed. It seems to be a fuel resevoir of some sort that was found behind a panel on the inside of the Bronco behind the drivers seat. I looked below where the lines come through the body and they seem to run to the front and rear gas tanks. The part number of the resevoir is DITA-9AI98-BA. I have searched all over the Ford website, but hav had no luck finding out what this thing is. Please help.

I think it's a vapor canister, on latter models they changed the design and added charcoal in them and put em under the hood . You might find a late model canister on Ebay.

Would there be a problem if the canister was to be relocated below the body or should I try to find new tubes to place the canister back where it origionally was?

I found a thread from the classic Broncos website that stated that these canisters were first placed on the 1971 and up broncos. The canister is used for fuel evaporation, but serves no point to the actual fuel system. Therefore, the canister is not going to be placed back into the Bronco, the lines that are cut are just going to be capped off.

just be sure that you are using a vented gas cap. You can find great info on that website.
