I am changing from manual to electric fuel pump. partly because it's easier to trouble shoot on the frame rail and partly because crank shaft at manual fuel pump is worn out and don't want to replace the shaft..

any pointers???

Mount the electric pump as close to the tank as possible. Electric pump's are made to push fuel not pull it.

Just so you know if you have a V8 ( Im not sure about the 300 six ) The fuel pump arm doesnt ride against the crank it is driven off a 2 piece ecentris ( sometimes 1 piece ) bolted to the front of the cam shaft . If this is wore out or not moving the pump you may have bigger problems you should look into . The timing gear retaining bolt may have come loose . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

That would have caused it to die because the pump wouldnt be pumping fuel anymore . The only way to really check it is to pull the front cover its kinda a pain but would be worth the piece of mind . It would also provide an oportunity to check the stretch on the timing chain and replace . If the bolt did come out or break you should find the pieces maybe with a magnet once the cover is off there is plenty of room to go fishing in the pan . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
