fuel pump prob

First of it is a 1990 bronco with 5.8W I have replaced the tank lines and fuel pump. When I turn the key to ON the fuel pump starts running so you can start it but I can crank all I want but if I let it run till it stops apprx. 10 minutes....It will start right up what could this be the only thing I have done diff. on it is rubber fuel line from the tank to the filter. please help I have everything done on this truck to go get it inspected but I dont want to if i have to wait ten minutes for it to start.....thanks michael harp

Mike, I replaced my pump, tank and sender and have never heard of that problem, are you sure you have everything hooked up properly? Make sure the supply lines going from the pump are hooked up right and when was the filter done last?

Im not sure when the filter was done last but I blew through it and it was fine..... I fthe lines were hooked up wrong why would it run after the pump finally clicks off.

You mean the pump turns off? Or do you not hear it anymore?

Did you hook up both fuel pumps? The 90 has a low pressure pump in the tank and a high pressure pump on the frame rail just about under the driver seat. I don't think rubber is proper for EFI systems unless you got some high presure hose. Another possibility is the fuel pressure regulator may be bad.
