i just acquired a 1988 ford bronco and my friend told me that this truck just turns over but doesnt start and he said that its because there is no fuel pressure in the lines and that when you turn the truck on that the fuel pump doesnt work. ive heard form some people that there is a fuel pump reset switch somewhere on the truck but they dont know where it is. does someone know if this is true and if it is where i can find the switch and maybe some other solutions as to why the truck is not starting? thanks.

if the fuel pump is not coming on at all theres a possibility it is the relays...try running wires from the battery to the pump on the frame to see if it runs..i do it when i get problems like that 9 times out of 10 its the relays for me.

You have a safety inertia switch under the dash, in some years it is on the passenger side and in others it is on the driver side. It looks like a little square box with a button sticking out of it. Try resetting the switch by pushing in on the button. If that doesn't work then possibly the fuel pump relay or the EEC relay. If the inertia switch is the problem and it repeats then replace the switch. Do not eliminate the switch except by bypassing for testing only. It is there to prevent the fuel pump from pumping gasoline all over the engine in the event of an accident.

Good luck,

:)>-
