i just put a jasper motor in my 78 bronco. the trac bar bracket on the rear has beaten out of shape from abuse over the years from the previous owner...i welded it up before and it held up strong until i jumped the truck. I welded it up again last night and the bolt is in there tight, could the trac bar hole itself be a little messed up? im going to the hardware store tomorrow to see if i can find a sleeve to drill the hole out and slide it in there. And onto the transmission. It has been messed up for a while, it shutters when i first take off and it slips a bit through 2nd gear and slips going into drive then its fine from there. I bought a shift kit does anyone think that will help it for a little while?

Could be your band on your tranny is out of adjustment. The adjustment bolt is found on the drivers side of the tranny, just forward of the neutral start switch. How to do this adjustment is found in either Haynes or Chilton's manual. If this does not work, then your clutch packs may be going bad and it's time for a rebuild job on the C6.
