I am interested to see what people's opinion is on quick/removable door hinges. What would you guys think about hinges similar to Jeep hinges in that you could lift off the doors instead of having to unbolt them from the frame? This is something that I have been kicking around for a while and am curious about if it would be worth it to make up a bunch to sell. Currently, there is only 1 set of hinges with this idea on the market that I have found. Wild Horses sells a set of pollished stainless steel hinges, but at $385 a set, I think that it is pretty steep price to pay. Please give me your opinions as to what you guys think.

Thanks a ton for your input!

I think it might be worthwhile. If you plan to do it though, you may want to consider trying to lighten the doors a little to make it easier to pop on and off.

This is one of the easiest modification anyone can do with a sawzall or grinder.

All you have to do is cut the top hinge knuckle off each hinge leaving the pin attached at the bottom and the door will slide up and off. The latch keeps it from coming off. Door doesn't sag either. But I guess it would be nice if someone built them for those who don't have access to tools and sell "cheap" instead of through suppliers that sell stainless steel spendy removeable hinges. Cutting the knuckle off isn't the best way but it works and its free. :D/

I have been running around with quick pins in my hinges for about 5 years now and like anything, the pins are wearing out. This is something that, like I said, I have been thinking about doing it for quite some time. That and the fact that an average used hinge sells for around $50 for one and a good hinge sells for roughly $100. Then you have WH selling a "pretty" set of lift off hinges for $385 that are welded stainless. My thoughts were to have them cast and machined so that you dont have the weld stress point. Granted the door really isnt heavy enough to break the weld with 2 hinges holding it, but it would look nicer and is stronger. Strength is information that I got from a manufacturing engineer that I know. So these would be professionally engineered and not a garage modification. Still, I would like to get people's opinion on them.

These are great hinges that I bought about two years ago and they work great! I have my doors off everytime the weather permits. Wild Child sells some of their gear through BC Broncos also.
