engine stalls when I stop

I am very confused... everything seems to be running along just fine until I have to come to a stop. As soon as I stop the engine jumps and stalls. It feels like the engine wants to keep driving forward with the brakes on. Anyone have any thoughts that might help?

Sounds like maybe the idle is too high or something is wrong with the torque convertor maybe.

is it a C4?

Mine was going dead when I came to a stop as well, but never did act like it wanted to keep pulling. The motor acted like it want to keep running but it just died. It was just a simple vaccum leak for me. Don't know if that helps but it was very simple to fix and very cheap.

Sounds like a possible small vacuum leak .....air still getting to the motor, but not fuel. Too lean and it dies. Maybe.....

It could also be excessive heat under the hood, boiling the fuel in the bowls. I have had that happen. When I came to a stop, the cool air ceased and the fuel would boil.
