Its about that time to replace my old 302 that has been rebuilt too many times, I am just looking for input on a new power plant for my '66 EB. I am leaning toward a 302 again but going injected this time. need something that is dependable and powerful enough to get me where I want to go but not leave me stranded in the middle of nowhere alaska! any reputable companies? or products? any info is good!

Hi Matt..,

Just some thoughts.., If it is, in fact, a 302 now.., it has been replaced.

If it's the original eng. .., it's a 289. That's a good block/eng...! (rated @ 200HP)

Most later model 302's are rated approx. 140HP

How many is too many..?

Rarely does a fresh block ever let folks down, or leave stranded...its usually the periferials..like electrical., ignition., fuel., drivelines., etc.

FI is good but Req. tank work fuel pumps etc. along with the injection system.

As usual.., $$$ rules...!

Say HI to Sarah up there for me...!
