electrical problem

:angry: help i recently put a new battery in and voltage regulator on and had my alternator tested and everthing is good with that but now it wont start the battery is dead when i hook a test light up and connect the one lead to the negative cable and touch the negative post the light glows just dimly any help would be great thanks justin :angry:

Take the battery to an automotive store that does free battery checks to see if it holds a charge anymore

its a 2nd battery new checked out ok new alternator and battery and voltage regulator

Your symptom shows a current draw when the truck is off. The thing you need to do is isolate the circuit that is drawing currrent. You can start by removing the fused link connections from the battery side of the starter solinoid. When the indication goe away you are on the track. Check that circuit where it runs near metal. Quite often the insulation rubs thru and causes a hig resistance short.

:) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> JUST TO GIVE AN UPDATE TO ALL MY WIRE GOING FROM THE VOLTAGE REGULATOR INTO THE MAIN HARNESS FOR THE ALTERNATOR WIRES WAS GREEN AS SOON AS I TOOK IT TO THE FORD DEALER WHERE MY WIFE WORKS THE LEAD TECH FOUND IT REPAIRED IT AND TOLD ME GIVE ME 15 DOLLARS AND CALL IT EVEN SO I GAVE HIM 20 PROBLEM SOLVED NEVER COULD BE ANY HAPPIER OH I JUST REMEMBERED I ONLY HAPPY WHEN I AM IN MY BRONCO

:blink: YEAH JUST THAT ONE WIRE AND I MUST OF SHOOK EVERY WIRE IN THAT TRUCK I SPENT A WHOLE WEEK TRYING TO DO THAT JUST GLAD ITS FIXED NOW THANKS FOR YOUR HELP :rolleyes:
