electric window

I have a 1988 Ford Bronco 2 and I am having problems with the drivers side window. I can hear the motor run and the window goes up a little ways about 6 inches and then you hear it click, click, click, thats all i can get out of it. I could grab the window on both sides and bring it up but now I can not do even that , I have never taken the door panel off before . I have a ford Bronco 2 repair book, but it does not list the door windows, I am at a loss what is wrong with it I would be most gratefull for any advice I can get from you good people, thanking you in advance .

i had a similar problem in my land rover and it turned out to be the window regulator was broken. for the rover it was about a hundred bucks for a whole new assembly minus the motor for a bronco II i am quite sure it is much cheaper. go to an auto parts store and save your self a head ache by gettining one of those panel plug remover tools for a couple of bucks.

WEll i might not have the best way to fix it. but i know how to fix it. To be it sounds like your moter is working fine. but thier is a triangle part that goes into the moter, it is made to brake apart if a arm is hung up in the windo or something. But its about a 15 dollar fix, if im not mistaken. What i did to get my moter out of the truck, is i drilled 3 larger ( large enough to fit a socket) if frount if where the actual bolts are located. and took the moter out, took out the 3 screws that hold the plastic gears inplace, and put it all back togeather. you might not need to drill any holes, but i found out that haveing the holes thier are alot easer then trying to use a wrench.

I took the panel off and boy you can't seem to do anything in there, I see what you mean about drilling three holes to get a socket in there, ok so after I drill these holes are there any surprises I will encounter to get the motor out other than removing the nut from the bottom of the door. After the motor is out what will I find that I have to replace, maybe I can buy them ahead of time so I won't have the bronco out of service thanking you for all youre valuable information
