<_< I take it that my 94, 5.8 with the EFF computer controled motor I'm basically screwed for any major performance additions.

I suppose I will have to find a early 80's with a carb, and not computer controlled eh?

Depends, I have a 94 with an edlbrock performer plus cam, 1.7 roller rockers, edlebrock performer intake, twin 56mm throttle body, bbk fuel pressure regulator, flow tech headers and true dual exhaust with no cats or mufflers. With the cam I have my fuel at 40psi at idle and the timing set to 13* advanced at the moment but will probably bring it to around 15* and in a few months i'll most likely be doing a .030 bore. If anything I do makes the engine run bad I'll get a custom chip for like $400 or so but deff. woth it. Just depends on how much you like to "tinker"

Nope, just like Bidi said, you can do quite a bit with it but you'll need a new chip. A custom chip will set you back a few bucks but something off the shelf won't be as bad.

$239 for a Hypertech chip from Summit:

$229 for an AutoMeter performance programmer:

$233 for a SuperChip from Car-Stuff

HyperTech has Chips & Programers. The newest Programers can download content from your PC via USB cable:

I didn't know you could use a programer on an eec IV system? I thought it was a chip only type of a thing? Guess that's what I get for thinking huh? With what I have now I have no computer changes. I did have to play with the fuel a bit and the timing but nothing to bad... Broncobill, sometimes I think you know to much... Oh well, we need people like you!

[-o< with flow tech headers & true duel exhaust, What did you do with the egr valve that runs off the right exhaust manifold< the smog pump that pumps air into who knows what in the rear of the enginge, & the O-2 sensors how did you get around the computer with them missing. I live in the wonderful state of SD NO vehicle inspections here or issues with messing with smog equiptment, with the exception of the cats if you dont want them you have to take them off no shop will remove them but they will put up pipe where they were..

I still have the EGR but no smog pump. That was gone when I got the truck. My O2 is still there. My Y pipe was cut and that's where my duel keeps going. There are a set of summit headers for the Bronco that has the tube for the EGR and I think FlowTech has the same thing. I believe mine was just cut and welded onto the headers themselves. It's hard to run an exhaust pipe down the driverside without a body lift or fender exit headers so that's why the "stock" pipe runs under the back of the engine and I have the choice witht he O2. Hope this helps...

Yes it does! Thanks I'll get me the shorty headers with the smog attacment for the EGR remove the cat loop the wiring on the o2 sensor so it will fool (Ihope) the computer. since I dont have a body lift I may see if we can run duels down the same side & either exit them together on the rt side or split them just before the rear end. AN LET HER ROAR!!!!!! LOL LOL to combat loud thumping stereros.LOL
