My EB came from Colorado through New Mexico and has rust in the usual places. Two places are unusal (I least I thing they are). Both inner fender skirts are rusted near the firewall. Rather that replace the whole thing I am thinking of removing the rust, painting the newly exposed area and covering the entire skirt with diamond plate. My question is are the inner fender skirts the same size and shape?

Thanks.

Yeah, they are the same. That is actually a pretty typical rust spot on EBs. If you do cover it with diamond plate, be sure to coat the patched and surrounding areas with something such as bed liner or a really good rust inhibitor because, eventually down the road, it might rust again.

After getting into it the rust is a little more serious than first expected. How hard is it to replace the inner skirt? Is it spot welded anywhere other than the wheel tub? Is removing the fender just a matter of removing all the bolts or is it also welded? Thanks for the help?

They aren't real hard, but if I remember right, they are spot welded and have the seams sealed. It might be easier to just cut them off and grind the left over off of the tub then reweld new fender/aprons on. I would call someone like Tom's Bronco or one of the other parts places who carry them and ask them to be certain.
