CARPET for tailgate?

Hello, I hope someone can help me. I would like to buy new carpet for my 1996, I have no problem finding carpet for the entire truck but can't find any that include the tailgate. If anyone has bought new carpet for their tailgate can you please tell me who you purchased it from.

Eddie Bauer and later model XLT's had carpeted tailgates.

I have no idea where one would find new carpet for one.

I think your best bet is to but some at a carpet store, Just bring in a piece that you want to match it to and try to find something close. I doubt you will find an exact match but it's worth a try.

Another thought would be to contact the carpet makers for vehicle carpets and ask them to sell you what you need. **** maybe they can cut a chunk out of a returned piece that they can't sell...

Just a couple of ideas..

Yea I have been looking as well. I am not sue were to find it. I is a molded piece of carpet specifically for the tale gate. I will keep looking. If you find it let me know.

I took mine off. It's beautiful bright blue. If you want it, let me know. I'm going the rhino liner route this summer. You'll have to get the little plastic ribbed fasteners, though.

have you contacted a dealer?

i did an online search for oem ford parts and came up with a site called big ford parts store, i think its trademotion.com

they have something called a tailgate cover for 70 and a trim panel for 140. no picture for either but the trim panel is 94-96 under tailgate, and the cover is listed for 92-96.

it may still be available through a dealer, otherwise i would take your part to an upholstery store and see what they can do.

Hello, I went to the website you suggested. The diagram showed it as the interior access panel in the tailgate.

I've gone to the upholster but he said he could put carpet on it but no with the rigid molded backing.

Also, nothing with the dealers I've been to
