Im kind of new to the website, but i'm building a mud truck, and im looking at the 38x12.50r15 Super Swamper TSL. I need some opinions like what wheel size and offset. Also suspension or body lift or a combination of both & what size? Please post your comments and thoughts. Thanks, Greg

most def. get 15 x 8 rims on 3.75 or close to backspacing...they will allow the most flex

well a 3 inch body lift is like 100 bucks so id get that and a 4 inch suspension lift...check out the ones on broncograveyard
lifts on broncograveyard are quite pricy I would check out rough country they have good lifts for these trucks that are affordable as for rims, I would suggest 15X10's for those tires

actually my 12.5 tsls reccommend 8's and with 10s they might rub when you turn

oh ok I just know i run 10 inch rims with my 35 12.50's and they don't rub at all I don't know thier backspacing but they stick out and give a really aggresive look, compared to ones on 8"

if it's strictly going to be a "mudder", then i would go with a wider tire like a 14.50. also, i'd save some money, and go with the body lift only. you don't need alot of flex and a 3" body lift would keep a lower center of gravity while your flying through the mud at higher speeds. (or you could just take a sawzall to the fenders and go without the lift on your 79') good luck.

plus with the body lift its alot easier to clean out all the mud

I have 38.5x14.5 sx's. All I have is flares and a 4 inch lift. I was driving around for a month with just the flares. I did some mudding and light trails with that set up and never ate a fender. After to for inch lift I can do all the flexing I want and it never rubs.

Plus for the mud I would definantly go wider.
