Bronco Re-wire

Any thoughts or suggestions for a complete re-wire on a 1974 Bronco with carburetor, no AC, and toggle switches instead of factory switches? I do not want to buy a pre-made harness.

I guess a good question would be why don't you want to buy a pre-made? The Centech & Painless are awesome harnesses. Especially Centech, for the price. You can also get in touch with Ryan McCormick at http://www.fordfuelinjection.com because he makes harnesses and he is an EB guy. Your other option is to trace and rewire yourself, but with the Centech, for example, every wire is labled as to where it goes.

Good luck, I can appreciate that, but I have done the complete wire from scratch before and it just turns into a pain in the a$$. The Ron Francis harness is pretty much a "build to suit yourself" and aren't like the Centech or Painless. But, hey, ya gotta do what you want, and thats what counts the most. Let us know how your progress goes.

If you insist on having the pain, make sure you use the proper type of wire that is designed for automotive use, especially in areas where it will be hot.

Thanks you guys !!! I am a ways off, putting one my antique John Deere tractor up for sale this weekend, its got to go first. Then its body off and the fun starts. I am gathering as much info as I can before I start. I am thinking about replacing the 302 with a 351. It has a NP 435 and I am contemplating an automatic , but if I do its got to be stout. Majority of driving will be street crusing with some mild off road trail blazing, no doors, no top. Transfer case leaks but seems solid, maybe a reseal ? Differentials have Currie Enterprise tags, they seem OK , however the rear pinion seal leaks. Need some rust repair work, and a complete new suspension, cage, seats, wiring etc... Can't Wait !!!!!

The C6 is probably the best automatic you could put in it, great transmissions and rugged.
