Now that I've owned the beast for a few weeks or so, I thought that I would post the progress so far.

Here is a picture from the first few days that I bought it.

And here is some pictures after a lot of serious buffing with a Meguiers DA and different Meguires Professional compounds.

Hood before:

Hood after: What a mess it was. I actually had to use 3000 grit wet sandpaper and then buff.

I also finished the new carpet install this week. Man the old stuff was real bad. I got the carpet from 1A Automotive on Ebay. About $230.00 and it's okay, not awesome, but much better than the stained carpet, but not better than the original carpet. All in all it was a fairly straight forward install and took me pretty much a full day. If I had to do it again, it would take maybe five hours.

Hey BTW do I have two different years of back interior panels or are they all different from one side to the other?

Next up is probably mechanical, as I have not yet checked the plugs or rear brakes. BTW what is the plug of choice for a "95 351W? Gap?

Looking good...i wish the carpet was in good shape in mine...but it wasn't and carpet in good shape is getting hard to find for these trucks...the only carpet i have left is from just behind the front buckets forward...from there back i had to pull the carpet out...all messed up with grease and who knows what else...so i took a rubber bed mat with the ford sing on it and cut to fit the back half of the truck...form fits function.... B) but looking good.....Accel super coil and i like accel 8.8 300+ race wire...moroso makes a good wire also(blue maxx 8.8mm)I use ngk v groove paltinum plugs... B)

Thanks.

As for the carpet, you are right in that there is no NOS that I could find, but I didn't look real hard either. There are a bunch of companies that sell the repo carpet, but I am guessing maybe one or two make them. I did use the reproduction carpet and it was ok.

Thanks for the reply.

I finally got to check my mileage today and I got a solid 13.5 mpg. Not bad for no top, AC on most of the time, and about 70+% of it was in town driving. I am not sure if a tune up would help that out to much.
