I like this Forum. No one immediately jumps out and screams "DO A SEARCH, DUMB A$$", at you before they even read the question. Also seems more family freindly.

Anyway, I'm a new Bronco owner and I'm liking it! I drove a '78 International Scout Traveler for 10 years and needed something different. So here I am with my new '96 XLT Bronco, completely stock from the Idaho Department of Forestry.

I was wondering what, if anything, goes in the opening to the right of the steering column below the rear defroster button. Factory ***** CD player maybe? It has the factory AM/FM cassett in it and I wanting to add a CD player but keep it stock.

As far as I know that is just a storage bin. I keep CD's in paper sleeves in that spot. The 96 models that came with CD players had them mounted in the dash the same location as those with casette players. Someone may have a stock Ford CD player from that year shouldn't be to difficult to find. Post something in the parts foresale/wanted section. Somebody probably has one just laying around in there garage. It may not be the easiest thing to connect if yours only had the cassette player. I'm pretty sure the CD players were part of the "Premium Sound" package and they have a different wireing harness and connector behind the dash. That part I know because I bought the wrong one when I replaced my "Premium Sound" head unit with a JVC unit.
