I just purchased a 5.5" Cage suspension system w/ radius arms. I went with the long travel cage shocks. Compressed they said they were 19". I plan on upgrading to the Bilstein 9100 series shocks soon. Bilstein has a shock with more travel, but it's taller when it's compressed than the cage shocks. Can you run a taller shock than the 19" cage shock without causing any problems.

How tall of a shock are you wanting to go with? Remember that you are going to have to lengthen both driveshafts now that you have that big of a lift. And with the shocks they are sending you, they are the "optimal" shocks for that lift. I have never used the Bilsteins so I don't know how long they are or what you might have to do with them, but by looking at them, with the resivoir, you might have to relocate some of the shock mounts.

I had to cut off the shock mount from the arms and make my own. I mountd them lower and rotated them to work better. You will have to do the same or raise the upper mount to allow the longer shock to fit.

Does anyone make a taller shock mounting bracket. How tall and what shocks do you run on your bronco.

I run Duff's Satge II front Hoop which requires a 2" body lift or no inner wheel well skirts. With a 3.5" lift you can run Duff's longest travel shock which extends 35.5" and collapes to 20.5". I lowered the shock mount on the stock radius arms to the middle of the arm cause these shocks are so long and needed more up travel. I then added 4.5" coils and that helped even more. Now with the Cage 5.5" lift I still run the Duff 70/30 long travel shock which works pro.

Bilstein makes a shock that the same size as the cage shock. So with any longtravel shock you have to get the bigger shock hoops with at least a 2" body lift to make everything work?
