I would like to add all of the pertinent information on my newly purchased 76 Bronco, but I'm having a tough time determining the codes from inside the glove box. The code is as follows: 092 u 0150 rv 9 18 04400 1976 52 Can anybody help with this? Thanks.

Hi Phil..,

No real need to be "spot on specific".... :)>-

General info. is good enough for starters & can always be up-dated.

092 is wheelbase (don't need that)

U15 is hardtop wagon (don't need that)

Basically.., eng.,302 transmision., 3 speed man. P/S etc., etc.,

You know..., anything you know to this point.

Note any changes made by prev. owner. (carb., distributor, etc.)

Look at some of the other members post & use that as a guideline...

(they're all a bit different as to format so no real set rule) B)

Do the info. under your name as well., that can be helpful too.

Thanks. Can I tell the front/rear gear ratio from these codes, or am I going to need to find the tag on the diffs themselves?

This works in a perfect world... but, who knows what the PO put in there..?

Chalk mark the wheel & dr. shaft. Turn the wheel one rotation (jacked up in neutral) count the # of turns on the shaft.

I'm guessing you'll get 3.5 turns. (In some cases, you need to stop the wheel on the other side fr. turning.)

3.5 turns = 3.50's 4.1 turns = 4.11's, etc.
