Hello everyone.

I have a Bronco 2, 1988, 2,9L V6 engine. The Chilton´s Rapair Manual Ford Ranger/BroncoII Explorer 1983-91 describes how to adjust the brakes. I from Costa Rica I speak spanish and I don´t understand what it means with this instructions:

"Back off the adjusting ***** starwheel until the wheel spins FREELY with a minimun of drag about 10 to 12 notches.

What it means with "a minimun of drag about 10 to 12 notches" ???

Thanks to everyone!

Hi CR.,

What that means is;

The "notch" is just the point at which the spring rests on the starwheel.

Turning the starwheel...you can feel it drop into each notch.

Without reading your book... I assume the proceedure is; tighten the starwheel pretty tight until the wheel will not turn. then back off (loosen)10 or so pulls with the adjusting tool, until you can turn the wheel.... a little rubbing when you turn the wheel is OK.
