You need to start chasing the problems down one at a time. A dim light is more often than not a poor ground. As for the ABS light, have you ck'd to see if there are any codes in the processor ?

I have a manuel and it says to find the abs unit and the tester on it but I have a abs tester under the hood but the wire colors dont mach what the book says.

Check the ABS sensor on the rear axle. It is basically just a typical plug in, check on the back or the rear transfer case, it should be there.
