A quick tip for anyone that needs help removing a stubborn body mount bushing.

After removing the body mount bolt, thread it back into the the mount 1-2 turns. Next, use a small sledgehammer and hit the bolt until the bottom portion of the mount separates from the top.

After scratching several of my body mounts with a sawzall,I figured there must be a better way. It was also much faster, and did not damage the mounts.

Been there. Tried that. Worked on two. Rest after hours w/ sawzall, torch, etc. took extended die grinder and disposed of. Bought new hardware. 90’ Eddie Bauer. Guess it depends on state of deterioration on how they decide they want to surrender

and method of repair. Some are a body off, some body on, some the metal surrounding needs replaced (they sell metal donuts for replacement, tab on them to weld back onto frame, right szed hole for Y/M/M replacement body mount) others one is just puttin in a BL. Out of the 8 on the 1st gen - 2 R totally unaccessable from 1 side (3rd from frnt '1st' one). Post #1 above dont wrk there...
