Up to 96 it was the 7.5 Liter 460ci 245 HP @ 4000 RPM MPFI. I believe some of the newer engines are larger such as the V10 but don't know it's specs.

Good luck,

:)>-

Before you go and spend all your pennies on the "Biggest" motor you can fine, do some research on the new Mustang V8. I think it puts out around 300hp STOCK!

It's a 4.3L or something small like that. Imagine what you can do to bring up the HP with that :-B

If you were to put it in a Bronco you would have to re-gear it so you don't waste all that HP trying to move that big bruit.

Just my $0.02

Shadow d has a good point. if your making this wheeler and not just some pretty hot rod street truck. Not that theres anything wrong with that!! the less weight you have the better. especialy for balance front to rear. the difference from big to small block is probly 500 lbs the ONLY major advantage to the big block is the torqe, or yourpower at take off. if your building a wheeler thats where low range comes in!

some times all you need is a set of gears to make it all better.

Biggest cubes 460 v-8. Biggest block 6.8 L v-10. If you want to make your engine run, do a fuellie swap and put a huffer on it. Adding hp always makes all probles go away. Exe. Problem...These brakes ****. Solution...Add a hundred horsepower. Problem...My fenders are rusted through. Solution...Add a hundred horse power. See how much better it stops and looks?

Ya know...supercharger, blower, huffer... The point was that you can build a 5.0 pretty cheep and then add like a powerdine or vortech for like 2grand more.

If money ever becomes not an issue theres a company called PAW www.pawengineparts.com I get alot of stuff from them there prices are really good but they have a 460 stroker motor that comes out to be a 521 Cubic inch they call it a 521 FORD DINOSAUR a long block kit cost $3595.00 says its for pro street, drags, marine,or truck puller . I think it would be alot of fun if you could keep axles under it . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

390s are good stout engines. If you wanna go with an FE then you should go with the biggist cubes though. That would be a 428. The only problem then is the cost of hyperformance parts.

If you're looking to make a racer out of a Bronco, you'll probably end up with more problems than you're bargaining for. They weren't made to withstand the forces that a fast start exert on a 5000 lb brick. Be prepaired to destroy some axles, gears, and assorted other parts.

Other than that look for an engine that will get you what you need and has readily available parts/mods out there. A rare, high horsepower engine is great, but parts and mods can be prohibitively high. It may be advisable to go with a slightly lower hp motor just so you can get the performance parts, and keep it running, without breaking the bank.
