I believe any 460 that is not fuel injected would be good. If you plan on rebuilding it then you can put lower compression pistons in it with DOVE heads from a 69-70 429. Makes a great running 460. If you are building something light maybe go with the 429. They seem to rev better than a 460.
Internals such as piston for a 429 are 3x the cost as a 460. I would do a 460 and check out 460ford.com. Most 460 blocks are about the same. The older ones have a higher nickel content which is better. The only difference between 460's is the rods are different between the car and truck engines.
