I did a search but did not come up with much, I am planning on upgrading the cables for my battery. I want to connect a 4ga wire from the alternator, but it is a harness not just a ***** on connection. My question is how to I connect the bigger wire to the alternater? My truck is a 1991 with a 5.8 BTW. thanks -Dave

Unless you are going to upgrade your alternator, there isn't much need to change the cable unless it is in bad shape. If you are adding a bunch of new stuff like bar lights, or a big stereo system then you might want to upgrade to 130 amp or larger alternator that can handle heavy loads. I believe that your truck has a 2G alternator, so upgrade to a 3G. Upgrading would necessitate changing the harness and output cable. The conversion is real simple.

Good luck,

:)>-

I upgraded the wires in my camaro and it made all the dimming go away, so I was hopeing to do to to the bronco too... But it seems like the power wire from the alt is coming from the harness. Would a better alternator have a bolt to hook the power up to so I could upgrade the size and get better current flow?

By dimming are you referring to your head lights? If so, there is a harness upgrade for them that includes a couple of relays and feeds them direct from the battery and uses your old light lines to control them for Hi and low. I'm including a couple of pictures of the lug on a 3G alternator.
