Is this typical for a B2? The driver's seat barely hinges forward. Like when you pull the entire seat forward and then hinge the backrest forward you can barely get your head and one shoulder into the back of the vehicle.

I’ve never owned a B2, but worked on hundres at the dealership. I’m pretty sure only the pass seat has the entry feature, like the full size ones.
Cheers

As I recall, your correct about that. Another engineering afterthought brought on by a bean-counters 'better idea' <cheap-cheap-cheaper>
Had a 2wd B2 for a spell and had to replace the A4LD trans- the weirdest thing I've seen was that dummy transfer case attatched.
I just didn't have any words for a while. 😐
Found a Normal A4LD, had a driveshaft modded and was still going fine when sold a few yrs. later.
Things that may ya say WHY?? 🤷‍♂️

Now that I remember, I had a 1990 B2 and the seat folded much further forward than my '89. I'll probably just pull the cover off and look at the mechanism and see if I can see anything.

I had an 89, it was high back seats. If I remember you had to slide the seat all the way forward, then it would tilt far enough to hit the steering wheel, still worthless, but the best you could get.
