i have a 76 crew cab with a 16 spline dana 60. would like to know if i can change to a 30 spline with out having to change axle housing or if all i have to do is change outter baerings. plan to put air or electerc locker in. help much needed [email protected]

To get away with it cheaper your best bet would be to drop the D60 rear and swap in a sterling from a mid 80's to early 90's F250 or F350. it'll swap right in. plus lots of aftermarket parts found for them. they are a much stronger rearend then the D60. you should be able to pick up a sterlin rear and locker cheaper then you can convert your 60's spline count. IMO
