Aux lights

So I picked up a set of 55 watt aux driving lights to supplement the not so great headlights on the bronco...here is my question, can I simply wire these lights (power and ground) to the parking lights so they come on like fogs with the corners/parking lamps?

Also, is there any reason I can't stuff a 7x3 Driving light into the holes in the front bumper of my 96 Bronco? They look like the perfect spot for a nice set of rectangle driving lights, has anyone done this??

I would put them on their own circuit drawing power directly from the battery and controlled by a relay. 110 watts (55 x 2 lights) is a lot more power than is normaly running through the parking lamp circuit.

As for the lights in the holes, I don't suppose it would hurt anything. Many trucks from that year didn't even have those holes. Would allow slightly less air through, though.

Edit:

You could, of course, control the relay with the parking lamp circuit. But I would check local laws about the use of the aux lights on the road first since they would be on whenever your headlights are on.

so just running them the normal way, powered off the battery with a relay, fuse and switch, is probably a better idea then?

That's what I would do. That way you know you have to right guage wires and propper fusing for the power you will be drawing.

There is also an upgrade available for the head lights to wire them the same way. From what I've read it makes them much brighter when they draw power straight from the battery. Don't remember where it was from or what it cost though. I think i read about it some where in Miesk5's huge list of links.

I have solved the headlight issue with the addition of new clear (black housing) heads and corners...I have yet to install them though...I just like the extra to fill in the edges and a nice flood aux light usually does the trick
