I have a 92 xlt bronco with the 351 and e40d trans. I prefer a manual setup and as I am going to put in a rebuilt motor anyway, that would be the best time to swap the trans as well.
my questions are: how difficult to find are the zf trans? These appear to be the beefier option and as I intend to tow and trail run, i would prefer a stronger unit.
Will my cruise control still work? I dont have to have cruise but I live in florida and drive 90 miles a day to work and school so it is nice when im on the interstate (about half the time), also I will be moving to portland oregon in less than a year and that 3500 mile trec almost requires cruise control.
any help is greatly appreciated. I have had my truck for just over a month and love it. It is in decent shape and I plan to do a mild buildup on it. needs to be able to pass emissions when I get to portland so I cant go overboard, but that doesnt mean I cant do a little.
