Just wondering if anyone has followed this troubleshooting from the manual and had it eventually work, or am I gonna do the paperclip trick later?

I used to have one. It worked. There wasn't really anything special about it. It just gave you a number instead of having to count flashes. Resetting the computer was easy, flip a switch.

It worked just fine. What I didn't like it that the plug from the eec never fit well on the reader so you always wondered if it was working properly.
