Well I actually just looked into that, 20 years old in wi, also have to have another vehicle registered under the same name, cant drive it in January, but you can get a temporary pass for a fee of course. I wanted them just to look cool and not pay registration again, costs $160, make that up in 3 years!

I'm from Connecticut also and when I had my 76 Torino I had to take it off the the road for a year because the new motor I put in it was not emmission compliant so when I reregistered it in 2001 (25 years old)I was told it was eligable for antique registration.

Up here it has to be 25 years old or older, be 100% stock and be in exellent running condition. Cannot be altered in anyway

in VA its 20 years for one level of antique plates, still have to have an inspection and all that crap. at 25 years you get the full antique plates, no inspection but you can only drive it to and from car shows, antique club events, it can not be a daily driver, and you can drive it for 'mechanical testing'

Here in florida it only has to be 20 years old, not sure of the condition but i do see lots of old junkers driving around with antique tags on and i'm almost positve that its allowed as a daily driver as well. But you can't get full coverage of any antique unless you have a garage, stupid hurricanes.
