Ok, what I got is an '86 with shortback buckets. Driver's seat doesn't lock in the back position, plus the seat is all tore to shreds. Passenger is in OK condition.

I found a local guy who does a killer job of re-upholstring seats for a decent price. What I'm looking for are the seats themselves. I crawled trhough my local JY today, and all I found was seats from Ranger or an Explorer. Quick glance looks like the bolts are the same pattern, but didn't have any way to get accurate measurements for the size.

Anyone ever try this before? Will a late model Ranger / Explorer fit into an '86 Bronco, with no or very little modifications? Or is there an adapter kit?

Broncos and F-150's in usable shape are hard to find up here in cow country, so if something from their smaller siblings will fit, that would be great.

Thanks for the help.

The newer seats may not be a direct bolt-in, but should be able to swap over to your Bronco seat brackets. Check that your's are not cracked and the floorpan is not cracked either.

I have Aerostar buckets. It only required putting the Bronco seat brackets on it in place of the Aerostar bracket.

Good luck,

yea i pretty much agree with them i just changed the seats in my 86 and thats a pretty unique bolt patern i doubt you'll get anything besides whats ment to be there to bolt. so just changing the brackets themselves if posible would be the way to go.

Great, thanks!

Any particular model years? or just any Aerostar? Any experience with Ranger / Explorer seats?

To be honest I don't know what year they came from, but I say a set recently that I almost bought which were in an Aerostar around the mid 90s. Also saw some nice ergonomic ones in a late 90s Explorer.

These are mine.

Good luck,

:)
