This is the never ending story......here's the latest:
This morning: ran terribly in the garage and didn't want to stay lit. Got it out of the gates and it dies on the road....sounded really bad almost like missing a cylinder; but, all were firing, just badly. Simply no power under 1500 rpm. I could rev the crap out of it (like 5000-5500 rpm) and it sounded okay. But bring it back down and it was dying. I even tried a tranny drop at 4000 rpm, it just died (no power).
Next: I pulled a plug. It was tan with areas of white. Okay, it's not too much fuel, it's too little or too much air. To check for an air leak, I put the propane tank (spraying propane gas) all over the manifold and carb base....nothing. I've got to think it's too little fuel that's causing this whole delima. I'll change all of the seriously mickey moused fuel lines (there are like 5 spliced together) and bypass the old valve (draws fuel from the main or the secondary tank) altogether. I've got a 23 gallon tank and that's enough. Once all the lines are replaced by a single 3/8" line and the filter is new, I'm done.
If that's not the cure, I'll just drop it off with the "carb/ignition expert." I'm sure he'll bang me for another $500.00 but what the ****. I just want this thing running.
