Hey all. It's been a while since the last time I posted anything here. As some of you may remember, last year my B2 got wrecked in November. I still have it, still wrecked. Here's my dilemma:
I found a Nissan 240SX, '92. It was a parts car, so it's missing the tranny and needs some sheet metal to cover a fist sized hole where acid from the battery ate through. No biggy. My plan is to buy this car for $300, get it to my dad's house, and put my 2.9 stuff in it. Everything, even the steering column and such so I can still use my old keys. Engine, tranny, wiring, computer, fuel tank, MAYBE some of the dash components (the 240 has a really nice dash setup). I personally think it's a good idea, and it'll definately go a lot faster than the original KA24DE 155hp I-4 that came in it. Believe you me, if my 3600lb 4WD box can go just as fast as a sleek, aerodynamic 2600lb car, what's that say about this idea? Think about it.......
Some of you may remember that this was my baby, and the best thing I can do to keep her going is to put as much stuff out of her into another body. I have another B2 for parts. I was going to get a lifted '85 B2, but with the anti-off road laws in texas, there's not much I can do with a 4WD.
The engine will fit better than swapping a Chevy S-10 2.2 for a 4.3, and the power to weight ratio will be crazy, resulting in better speed and acceleration, and mad crazy gas mileage (I was getting about 23 mpg in my B2 city). Believe it.
The problem is I have no way to get the car to my dad's house, except for waiting until next friday (paycheck), but I don't know if the owner will wait that long. He has title and keys, and is ready to make the deal. All I need is $85 to get the car there (U-haul rental).
Think it's worth it?
