Yesterday on my way home from work my exhaust was sounding funny. I wasn't sure what was going on but I was guessing one of my clamps had let go (yes, my exhaust is all clamps and it sucks). Well, when I got home I inspected and yep, my exhaust was hanging right behind my cherry bomb. To top it off, every time I stop I have a habbit of setting my parking brake. When I set it when I got home it made a popping sound, yep, broke the metal thing that goes from a single cable to the two cables. Looks like I'll be making a trip to the junk yard this weekend to see if I can't snag one. Well, just thought I would let everyone know how my "trip home" went yesterday. Oh, I did put the exhaust back up and I hope it'll hold to take it to place we all work on our rigs. Yep, just a HUGE driveway at my buddy's house. Hope someone gets a good laugh out of this.

Be careful man, everyone knows these things always come in threes. Take a few min and inspect everything so a freaking wheel doesn't come off while you're driving over there.

Now that is a valid point. I'll check all my lug nuts, tire pressure, head lights and blinker fluid. Anything else? Maybe my seat relay?

Better check to make sure that baby lying on your chest didn't stick any cheese doodles, or chedar cheese fish into your cigarette lighter on the dash, or when you go to call for help with your cell phone that has a dead battery, AND you plug your charger into the dash, you won't know why it isn't charging, because it will be night and you won't be able to see that the socket is clogged.

On a serious side, and I am sure that I don't have to tell you, make sure the exhaust is not still pulling on your brake cable, or you may be dragging your rear brakes.

I can share a story about being stuck for three days in Kennebuck SD becuase of a weak brake pedal return spring.

Yeah, also be sure to ck your Johnson bar & Framholtz regulator. Either one of *those* goes and you're in big trouble. While you're under there might as well take a look at the muffler bearings since you're having exhaust problems.

My exhaust didn't brake my cable, my foot pressing the pedal did. It broke around a year ago and my neighbor welded it for me and well, it broke again.

I guess my exhaust coming off actually helped me, my muffler bearings looked great! My blinker fluid was a little low but was still amber in color so I topped it off. However, my radius arm pedal was missing but my brake wipers were still there. A little weird but I'll get it figured out! Thanks for all the heads up on things and if anyone else has any input let me know. Oh, my speedometer clock was 3* to the left from the letter "Q."

Lessons learned:

1) weld your exhaust connections

2) find another welder beside your friend
