I have an '82 Bronco. I swaped out the complete front and rear end plus suspension (4 inch lift) from my old '86 F-150 short bed. I am sporting a Skyjacker 4 inch lift with rear springs, not blocks. This is a "superrunner system" complete with radius arms, drop pitman arm, and drop brackets. I am wanting to go with about 8 inches of lift. My genius idea is to add 4" blocks to the rear and 6" coils with 2" coil spacers to the front (if I cant get 8" springs). I have checked part numbers and all the brackets used in the 4" and 6" systems are the same, the only thing different are the springs. Now I should have no trouble with putting on 38 in Boggers. I am also considering a staight axle conversion.

Does anyone know if this is a good idea and or if it will work??????

SPECS:

Danna 44

9" rear-end

4:10 gears........I think(gears were in there when I bought the '86 shorty)

35x12.5x15 Super Swampers Radial TSL

Please leave any comments or suggestions. If you think you have something I really need to know or need to consider feel free to email me. [email protected]

thanks America

Why not just install an 8" lift & be done with it ? Skyjacker makes one http://www.4wheelerssupply.com/catalog/pro...aa5d90cb36afae3 the 4" rear blocks will work but the lever action of the block-long U-bolt combo has a way of backing off the nuts and loosening the rear end. This in turn tends to round off the spring pad which lets the axle rock when accelerating/braking and it itnrodeces a whole bunch of axle wrap. Front spacers are just a flat out bad idea. IF you want to make room for 38's you could also keep the existing lift & go with a set of Bushwacker cut-out flares. Opening up the wheelwells works just as well and it's a whole lot cheaper.
