First of all, sorry no one replied to your post with any help. Secondly, did they completely replace your shackles or just fix what you had. I am currently having shackle problems myself and was wondering how anyone would be able to replace the shackles? They are riveted on, but that's not really the problem. The problem I'm having is how in the **** would anyone manuver around between the frame and the gas tank to properly reinstall new shackles? or is there another way?

You will have to drill out the rivots and bolt the new hanger on. Its pretty tight squeeze with the gas tank in place but should be possible if the back bumper was removed. If not drop the tank. And for susainte, the bottom nut is close to the frame and the top one is out away from the frame, for the very reason you experienced. To get the top bolt out you must first remove the bottom.
