I have searched the forum to find a problem similar to what we are having with my son's '94 bronco but I can't find anything, so I hope someone can help, seeing as two mechanics who have looked at the vehicle cannot.

About two weeks ago, he was driving and all of a sudden the bronco jumped and basically died in the street. After he raised the hood, he saw what he thought was some kind of fluid exploded on the hood and parked it and had it towed to the first garage (son thought it was the transmission). The mechanic hooked it up to a computer and the only thing he found wrong was the maxey (sp?) fuse was blown and he replaced it. Said he just thought the stuff on the hood was water (son was mudding/driving through water  ) and could not find any fluids missing. He said it drove fine, so he sent it home and said all was well......

Fast forward to the second incident, when driving now he will be going about 2 mph and the speedometer is reading 30 or so mph and the tack is going up right along with the speedometer. When you come to a stop, the bronco is stopped while teh speedometer is still slowly dropping down to 0. Took it back to the garage and they it drove fine and nothing was wrong with it yet again (although he said there was no reason to hook it up to diagnostics again since he jsut did that last week).

Seeing as these mechanics wont be getting it for the third time around, can anyone suggest anything??

FWIW, the cruise control quit working about three months ago and we searched it online and said it may have to do with the airbag light blinking.

Thanks!

Most of his problems seem to be centered around the speed sensor. Also the fact that he was mudding, he may have either gotten crap in the plug or knocked it loose. Another possibility is the computer connector, pull it apart, check for corrosion, clean with contact spray and reassemble. The speed sensor is on the rear differential case.

Good luck,

:)>-
