Does anyone have any pics of the inside of their top? I am looking into replacing my top on my 89 with a 92-96 that has the provisions for shoulder belts for the outide rear passengers. I just want to see the mounting or see what the bosses look like in the top to see if I should replace the top or just fabricate my own mounts.

Any help would be great.

Thanks.

I would look at having a "roll" bar put together with the mounts added. My top has headliner so anypics would not help you much. I would think you could find a top real easy and cheep. I have been trying to sell mine and had NO interest here in Denver.

Too bad I dont live closer, I would probably purchase it.. I have a guy that has one with seatbelts for around the $250.00 mark but I have not seen it yet. Still waiting on pics but he is still in Washington and would have to have it shipped and he hasnt told me if that price is shipped or not. I am thinking of having a full family cage built but for the time being I would like to atleast have the shoulder belts. Thanks for the help though...

On the '92 thru '96 the belt is mounted on the bed side wall with a shoulder loop hanging from the fiberglass top. Older broncos had them all on the jump seat lap belt. I have not seen underneath my fiberglass tops headliner where the screws mount but I would bet to get DOT approved there is a steel caging around that window and perhaps across the top as well. I say this as I have recently cut a 1990 fiberglass top apart and in the same few days I removed my 1994 top. The 1990 had much more steel than I expected around the rear window but it was a good twenty pounds lighter than the 1994 top.

Good info... I am planning on getting a late model top for the safety aspect then cutting mine up to make a faux soft top like others have done. I like the open feeling but since soft tops are not readily available, I have to make something. I do plan to have a cage built but that might be down the road a bit... Maybe a spring project... Thanks for the info.
