Can anyone give me some input on the hub assembly system for the dana 44 front axle? I took off the hub and am trying to remove the races from the inside. the outter came out but the inner did not. is there something I'm missing?

Did the outers just fall out? Did you try using a punch on the inside on the race?

like aqua said...use a punch put the punch in and smack it out with a hammer just make sure you keep moving the punch around and that should get it with no problem

I just replaced my hubs on the 79 and to get the outer race out I used a scrediver and a pair of pliers. It is only help in there whith the snap ring on the spline and the race on the outside. One you get the race out, grab the inside of the hub with pliers and pull the whole assembly out. When you put the hubs back in, make sure you put loctite (The blue kind) on the bolt threads, I learned the hard way when my hub cover came off in denver. Good luck!
