So here is the problem. Two things seem to **** the engine when I drive it. First when I hit a bump the engine dies. Now it starts right back up and off I go. Secondly and most of the time when I take my foot off the gas the engine dies as well. I have played with the fuel intake screws on the carborator and the idle ***** to make sure enough fuel is getting in. I adjusted the automatic choke as well (however I am not sure if it is broken or not). I have also looked for any lose or old vaccum hoses however I do not see any problems there (might have missed something???). When the problem first started I could drive the truck around for quite a while then it would die after about 20 minutes of driving. Now however the truck will not go anywhere before it dies on me. It starts right up but dies about a minute later.  One last note I just had my truck intirely rewired and I had no issues with this before the rewiring. However after the wiring job it ran great for about 2-3months...not sure if this is anything just throwing it out there.

Any advice/tips/help would be great...thanks :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Hi Oregon.., welcome..!

"First, when I hit a bump the engine dies."

This has the earmarkings of a lose wire.  Check around the coil, dizzy, & module.  Also the back of the key/ignition switch.

Check all ground connections that you're aware of.

In some cases, the new wires aren't completely crimped.., allowing a poor connection. Check that the crimps are set tight.

Re-set your carb. idle screws to two turns out if you havent already.., then re adj. for smoothest idle.

If it's not a wire connection......, come on back......... >:D< <'>
