i have a problem with my blower. i have a new motor (which i will be updating with a old chev one after reading older forums) and i have no reaction when i turn the blower on. no i pulled the resistor and it looks ok, but i cant find one anywhere. i am going to test for power later today, but i am curious if the resistor on this style of setup can even caue this issue. if it is the problem, where the **** can i buy one from. i have checked everywhere.

Geeese.! I forgot all 'bout that resistor.....

Unless the coil is broken., or the bayonet plugs are broken loose somehow.., it's not likely the prob.

----- (do a continuity test) ----

My guess is the dash switch..or no 12v.

The switches can sometimes be saved with NON-EXPLOSIVE contact cleaner.., & compressed air.

i tested power to the plugs and i have power o them all, but i think i have a ground issue. when i attach my power probe ground wire to the metal part of the heater box, the blower works on both speeds. dos that mean the heater switch is grounded through its cable?

Been a while since I've had mine out but., I believe the blower motor is grounded thru the sheetmetal attach bolts in the firewall, and, a ground strap (or wire) to the screws that hold the motor to the plastic housing. It (ground wire) could inside the housing.

Could be., you just need to clean up the firewall attach bolts.

I agree unless the blower motor is just dead, but hey they came in all kinds of trucks, my bronco now has a heater from a 68 fsomething truck, I got lucky at the junk yard and the core held, the motor spun and the housing matched up with One hole drilled in the cowl, 20$ and I nabbed the mechanicals and valve too, hooked up the heater valve witha spare choke cable....Good Luck
