I was reading in a magazine and saw that the 66 broncos had a different transmission shifter than the T or the J shifter. Anybody know what this shifter was. Wouldn't you need a different t-case and all. What were the ranges that they had? Just wondering.

"....different transmission shifter than the T or the J shifter...."

The transmission shifter is just "that".... (column, or floor conversion)

What you're refering to are the transfer case shifters..."J" being on the later year models.

The "Rat" transmission has lower 1st gear ( & maybe 2nd) than the "Ran" & "Hef" transmissions.
