well guys im new to broncos and i was goin to look at this 1993 bronco for 650...it has the automatic tranny and the 5.0 liter..i went to start it and it started right up...then i put it in drive and started to go up the street...but it was stuck in 4 low..so i went to change it to 2 wheel drive and the whole shifter just fell deep into the body.. it wouldnt stay in gear after that...so i stopped it and went under the truck to look and where the shifter comes down to the transfer case..the shifter has fell off the plate that it is screwed to (WHERE IT SWIVELS)..im thinking the little nut just loosened over the years and it just fell off..i could see a little ***** where the shifter could of been put back on to the plate somehow but i dont know how...does anybody know where i can find a diagram for how the shifter hooks to the little plate...is this an easy fix...im desperate cuz i really want this truck and if i can make a little temp fix to drive i home im buying it

I don't know of any diagrams of the shifter linkage for the B-W 13-56 t-case, but there may be some pics in a previous post. IF the shifter rod itself has come off the linkage, there are two small screws thru the square end that attach it to the linkage. The linkage attaches to the transmission with a large bolt, about 1-1/4", and a smaller one, about 3/4". Those trans bolts usually don't come loose on their own, unless the t-case was swapped and theyweren't tightened. IF the linkage came loose from the t-case, there should be a stud where the shift selector comes out of the t-case anda scale showing 2HI, 4HI, N, and 4Lo. you can maually shift the t-case into 2Hi or Neutral (for towing) until you fix the linkage. Also, click on the link to "Miesk5 Homepage" in the Tech articles forum, and go to the transmission section. You might find some pictures of the shifter linkage.

Also, on the back of the t-case there should be a spot where you can temporarily put the vehicle in any of the 4 "gears" I believe it requires a 1/2" drive to turn. If I'm wrong I hope someone will let me know but I'm sure I have one on mine.
