This post is probably in the wrong place but it's about the myth I'm researching regarding a bronco. I was recently browsing some articles and stumbled upon this http://www.cardomain.com/ride/195215. It says it's a 2002 Bronco. I've seen the 2002 bronco one other place, but honestly it seems like a unicorn. people can show me pictures of one, but I'll never see one in real life. I've searched google for more pictures, but all i can find is the 2.2 diesel land rover looking concept bronco. I found a nicely lifted "2002" Bronco. Are these guys just shortening Excursions or putting F-250 front clips on older Broncos. Is there any place I can see one in real life? I think they look pretty dang sweet. I realize that is a barrage of questions/statments, but seriously I feel like I'm being teased.

any links or information would help, I think the f-250 frontend looks much better than the 2004 concept. but the back window doesn't roll down on the 2002. Is it just me or is that a bronco standard?

That thing is, to me, trash. It's no bronco, just a shortened excursion. Lowered, too. If the rumors are true, the new bronco, if it is real, will probably look like this:

I can't say I loathe it, but please, call it something else and leave us to our memories of our classic broncos.

that thing is the concoction of some ignorant piece of trash that thinks it's cool to take a excursion chop it up turn it into a bunch of random pieces of welded sheet metal and give it a name that shouldn't ever grace its crappy shaved quarter panels (bronco). the only way that thing could slightly even be cooler is if were to be lifted up 3 feet and have lo pro off road tires and 24 inch wheels. but even then that's not cool. that's not a truck for off road, that's an excuse for hot asian girls to dance around that horrible disgrace of 4x4 and show off their ASSets only to be poked later by the idiot in the flipped upside down Kangol golf hat.

As for the prototype, it's okay I guess. Kinda resembles the EB's on a modern scale. It reminds me to much of the new Mustangs, soon to be Camaro's and now FJ Cruiser. Sweet but a failed attempt to the original. It's something every business exec would have and never take out in the mud pits the beach or rock trails. It's use would be for something we couldn't ever want to think. going to soccer meets, swim meets hours away, and the only off road it will see is the gravel drive way or the bit of sand that accumulates in the garage. No corporate man would ever take that new "FSB" off road, it would be to scary. They wouldn't know the first thing about tailgating on the beach with your surf rods out at 3am catching fish (Which we did this morning).

I HATE THESE PEOPLE, and I'm done ranting on my soap box.

I totally agree with the assessment of it being to low. the cab hight of my pretty much stock Bronco is almost 2 feet. I think if it were that high it would be sweet. I would like that one much better than the concept that looks like a toy. I've always had a thing for the F-250 and above front ends. I looked closer and saw there was NO removable top. For me that is part of bronco's charm. I'd love to see a new bronco come out that looks like one of the f-series. Although it would take bronco's back to their roots of the smaller MPV that didn't resemble the f-series. If i had the money I'd chop an excursion up and find a way to make the top removable.

I drew these cause I love the thought of Ford using the truck frame and such to make the new Bronco. They aren't prefect

2008_B_250_topless.jpg, but it is all about the love.

I just can't be a bronco if it doesn't have a removable top. it might as well be a dodge ram charger ya know?

tdub, that 2002 "Bronco" is indeed a shortened Excursion, built by a custom shop in Texas. I've seen it at a coule of shows, like the TX HeatWave in Austin, TX this past Summer. They will build you one just like it for $20,000 (you provide the Excursion). Since Ford stopped producing the Bronco in 1996, anything you see later than that year is a photoshop drawing or a one-ff custom. I too would love to see a new fullsize Bronco, but I know it would cost $30-$40K. You can build one beast of a rig out of an existing older Bronco for a fraction of that in my opinion. JSM84

You are soooo right! I too, would love to see a modern Fullsized Bronco but I know that there is no way I would be willing to pay the pricetag it would carry.

That is an excursion with the second set off doors cut off then the truck is welded back together and the frame is welded. and if they did it right they would have put in a frame brace. they did the same thing but backwards with the real bronco. they would cut the bronco in half and weld in a second set of doors and they call them centurions. http://broncozone.com/forums/uploads/post-...-1109622170.jpg its a pic of a centurion.

The centurions are sweet. I found it easier to search for c-150's though. I saw one of these once in my home town. It was pretty amazing, I thought some one just had a lot of time on their hands, or it was something that was a year teaser. I was riding with my mom, so I'm pretty sure it was in my early teens, definitely before I caught the bronco fever. Thanks for putting that up Bubba.
