Hey guys I Have a 1982 Bronco that I am currently trying to re-do.

My question is about exhaust....What should I do? A local mechanic said that I could NOT go dual from the Exhaust Manifold back. True? If so what do you recommend?? I want something that is loud but also has that deep sound...Thanks!

Running a true dual exhaust on the Bronco is difficult due to the location of transfercase and front driveshaft. You get the most benifit from a wide open dual exhaust during high reving, high speed driving, which is not how most of us tend to drive a Bronco. That is probably why your mechanic recomends against it. I use a single in dual out cat-back system that I'm pretty happy with. It has a nice low rumble to it, but it's not really very loud. If your heart is set on a true dual system, it definately can be done. It just depends on how much work/money your are willing to throw at it.

It doesnt have to be dual from the headers....What kind of muffler are you running?

I'm running a cat back system with a single-in/dual-out Flowmaster 40 muffler. One tail pipe exits at the stock location and the other in the same spot on the other side of the truck. I had a local shop custom bend and install the system. The left side tail pipe required some fancy bending do to the 33 gallon fuel tank. I don't remember the exact price but the whole thing took them about an hour to install and was less than $300 in Killeen, TX.
